Job Scope: Account Manager Business Development Sales
Scope of Work
- Client Acquisition & Business Development
• Leverage existing client relationships and personal network to generate new business opportunities.
• Identify and pursue high-potential leads within target industries and market segments.
• Develop and execute strategic outreach plans through calls, referrals, email campaigns, and networking events.
• Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
• Build a robust and continuously growing sales pipeline with clear conversion goals. - Sales Strategy & Revenue Generation
• Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and revenue objectives consistently.
• Develop account strategies that align with the company’s business goals and market focus.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including pre-sales and product specialists, to tailor and position winning solutions.
• Drive contract negotiations, close deals, and ensure seamless onboarding of new clients. - Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired clients during onboarding and early engagement stages.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts to ensure retention and account growth.
• Conduct regular check-ins, business reviews, and satisfaction surveys to identify cross-selling or upselling opportunities. - Market Intelligence & Positioning
• Provide strategic input to the management team based on client feedback and market intelligence.
• Position the company as a trusted advisor by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of client challenges and how our solutions address them. - Collaboration & Internal
• Coordinate with project delivery, product, and support teams to ensure a seamless transition from prospect to client.
• Share insights and lessons learned with peers and leadership to improve sales strategies. - Reporting & Performance Tracking
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client meetings, and deal progress using CRM tools.
• Report regularly on sales performance, pipeline health, and market trends to the Chief Commercial Officer.
• Forecast revenue and provide input into strategic planning and resource allocation. - Client Engagement During Delivery Phase
• Maintain active involvement during the project delivery phase to ensure commercial commitments, timelines, and client expectations are aligned.
• Monitor delivery progress and collaborate with the project team to ensure contractual obligations and service levels are being met.
• Support contract management, including variations, renewals, billing milestones, and ensuring all commercial terms are adhered to.
• Act as the escalation point for client concerns related to commercial scope or delivery commitments.
• Provide regular internal updates on delivery-related risks that may impact client satisfaction or revenue realization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a client-facing sales role such as Business Development Manager, Account Manager, or Sales Executive.
- Proven ability to bring in new business through an established client base or professional network.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales principles, deal cycles, and client acquisition strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Well-organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
- Results-driven, with a demonstrated track record of consistently achieving or surpassing sales targets.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel to client locations, industry events, or networking engagements may be required.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when necessary to accommodate client schedules or business opportunities.
